Hello, Bolton!
Building community through networking and a kind word
The Town of Bolton is facing a crisis. The Proposition 2 1/2 override *must* pass or we will lose many of the services that make Bolton great!
Building community through networking and a kind word
The Hello Bolton! Initiative
Hello, Bolton! is an initiative organized by volunteer residents who know it can be hard to meet your neighbors. Though there are beautiful meadows and forests, Bolton does not have a lot of sidewalks and the larger house lots can create distance. Our goal is to help residents, especially newcomers, make community connections and learn more about the town. If this is something you are looking to do, Hello, Bolton! can assist.
Hello, Bolton’s online directory can help you find people, places, and other helpful links to town services and organizations. Though not all-encompassing, we hope that it is a good introductory resource. Since digital communications can only go so far, Hello, Bolton! also aims to help residents meet other residents who are looking for in-person connections. There are many active groups and organizations in town that enthusiastically welcome new members. It helps to know where to go and who to contact to join a new group and Hello, Bolton! hopes to help with this. We believe that bringing people together strengthens a community. See the contact section to learn more.
Welcome to Bolton!
If you’re a new resident, you’ll see that the town has easy access to major highways but nevertheless retains its strong rural character with farms, conservation land, and open space for everyone to enjoy. Bolton is an active community with citizens encouraged to become involved with town government, schools, and the community. It has an active library, senior center, and recreation department that provide programs for all ages throughout the year. The Town Hall employees happily go the extra mile to help citizens with any issues, and the same can be said of the police and fire departments, and the Department of Public Works.
Summer is beautiful in Bolton with locally grown produce for sale on the side of the road or at the Backyard Bolton events. Peach and blueberry picking is an option. Fun for kids can be found at the Tom Denney Nature Camp or swimming at the town beach. The Bolton Fair is a popular annual event in August and summer music concerts are often held around town.
In the Fall, Bolton becomes a destination for apple picking at a variety of orchards with the backdrop of beautiful foliage and our picturesque New England town. Through the warmer seasons, picnicking at Nashoba Valley Winery is a big draw. The annual Halloween Treat Walk and party is always a fun time.
Winter brings ice skating at the Town Common, cross-country skiing through our conservation trails, and family skiing a short 20 minutes away. A tree and menorah lighting, combined with the the Bolton Historical Society's annual wreath sale, boosts holiday spirit.
Spring brings athletic leagues, the Town Easter egg hunt, the Friends of the Bolton Public Library Book Sale, more outdoor music, and, of course, more hiking on the forest conservation trails.
